rambling

well friends and family I am just in the mood to ramble.. all has been pretty good here. the kids are healthy and sassy.. Courtney is doing well with her driving and only 19 days until she takes her test.. oh my gosh I can't believe my baby girl is going to allowed to leagally be on the road.. what the heck is Pa thinking..lol Christopher is being your typical boy and hanging with his buddies most of the time. thank goodness he does not have a girlfriend yet...I'm not ready for that.

thanksgiving was really nice. My brother Jim and sister-in-law Tammy and my 2 nieces Katie and Sarah came up and they broght my dad.. It's so nice to be able to visit with family that you like to be around.. the Bear didn't stay long because he was making the trip to Conn. I still get a little upset with that, but it's not my life. It's a real shame that a death in the family is what brings it back together, unfortunately it was my mom who had to suffer and not reap the rewards of the family talking again.

I really must make an effort to compliment my sister-in-law on how well she handles her daughters temper tantrums. She has more patients than I did, I was always the sarcastic one and raising my voice, were she stays calm and gets them to tell her what the problem is.

I have been really bumbed this last couple of weeks, there is so much that I want to tell my mom and to ask her what to do about a couple of issues and she is just not there to answer. I know that she hears me, but I just can't hear her and I feel sad that I don't dream about her anymore. I know that I am not forgetting her because she is always on mind and I am always talking to her. So times I wonder if it will ever get easier thinking about her. they say time helps but it's been over 2 years and I still just cry at night for wanting her to hug me and talk to me.. I love my dad very much but it's just not the same. I know that parents are suppose to die before thier kids but not at such a young age or from such a crappy disease. I hate that life is not fair and that I have had to teach my kids that also. I only hope that as mom looks down on me that she pround that of how Courtney and Christopher are turning into amazing young adults.

Well let me tell you that my lovely daughter pulled her first big fall to peer pressure. Let me tell you it was not drugs or alcohol, thank GOD... She allowed a friend, who has only been going to vo-tech for 2 month, to cut her hair. Well lets just say that it did not turn out well, and now courtney has a bob haircut that the beautician was just barely able to save it to. it is the shortest her hair has ever been. also this girl attempted to this out courtney's hair and butchered badley, so not only does court have short hair but it's very thin, the girl cut her hair at the scalp to thin it and court will have little spikes as her hair grows. thank the lord that it grows quickly.. Thurday was not a good day in the Harmon household that's for sure..

what is a person suppose to do when they hate their job, but there is no other place to go to? well the answer is suck it up and keep looking for a better place to be!!! let me tell you easier said than done. i have come to the realization that I hate banking in a casino. the hours suck and the pay isn't much better. and you have no family life. after being spoiled and only working when I wanted to these last 18 months have been horrible. I hate missing my childrens activities and having to depend on other people to get them home when it should be me... UGH!!!! I hate that my husband works 6 hours and in another state from where we live. I think generally today I hate just about everthing you can think of.

I have finally gotten a doctors appointment and I told my boss I am not cancelling this one so figure out what to do because I am going.. END OF DISCUSSION!!! he wasn't happy but oh well I need my pain pills. I am tires and cranky all the time and my fingers up to my elbows are blue, and I no longer can feel the front of my left thigh... so if my boss has issues with rearranging the schedule so I can see the doc,, it sucks to be him, because I will call off and leave him in the lurch.. I have cancelled 6 appointments and won't do it again. It wouldn't even be an issue if he would post the schedule at 3 week intervals like the union said he had to.

Also I have finally gotten Chris into the doctors and he is not happy with me. He hasn't seen a doc for 8 years and then only because he was having issues with stress and his blood pressure and before that he hadn't seen a doc since we got married. and let me tell you after this scare with his mom he doesn't have a choice about going. Even if I have to hog tie him he will be there.

well enought rambling... The kids are great. Courtney has calavacade tonight and I will be able to get there in time to see it. yeah. She is actually taking clarinet lessons, which she has not done since 5th grade, so that she can try out for regional band.. she has started looking into colleges and what is needed to enroll. that scares me, it shows that i am getting old. hahaha
she has almost completed her senior project the only thing really left it to get the band together to learn it and play it... that is not going to be fun..

Christopher is doing well in school and having a blast coaching this year, but he is definately ready to play next year. Another good sign with him is he has made up with a couple of his buddies and is starting to hang out with the kids that Chris and I like. thank goodness.
He also signed up for the random drug testing again this year. that makes me proud of him that he understands that drugs are really bad for you and not to do them.. so apparently he was listening to some of what his dad and i were saying... I know hard to believe but it does occasionally happen.

thank the heavens that racing is over.. it has been a long summer and i am burned out. i have to look for time to take a small vacation. i am starting to snap at everyone..
on a good note i started back to school and i have passed my first two classes. and i am currently working on my third one.
the kids are doing great. Courtney is gearing up to save money for her trip to canada.. i have to get some money together for her passport. she is doing well in school. had a little bit of rough start in college chem but is pulling out of the rut and on her way with flying colors.

christopher is doing well in school so far and his coaching is keeping him busy.. and keeps him out of trouble. lol.

big chris's schedule is about to change again but hopefully not to bad. i so want to live with my husband full time. only 5 years left for bubba tograduate andthen yeah i get a full time husband.

well off to pay bills and to study... oh ahppy joy

life sucks

Well i think the saying "If lifes' a bowl of cherries why am I living in the pits" is an apt discription on how I feel right now. I so want a job were I can be home in the evenings and on the weekends with my kids. they are so busy and I am missing watching them do thier activities and I miss watching them grow. As you can probally tell I am feeling sorry for myself. I at least get to see them, I know that some parents don't get to see thier kids.
But this is my self pity day.. On day's like this I wish I had never bought my car or gotten a credit card. Then I would be free to get a part time job for the kids extra's and be available for them.

well enough of the pity party I have to get ready for work.. OH HAPPY JOY!!! sarcasm at it's best.

school

well i did it. I am an offical college student. I enrolled in Penn Foster College out of Scranton Pa. I am doing their on line course in medical billing and coding. it will take me 15 months and then I will be eligble to take a national test to get certified. It feels like when I did my Surg Tech degree. I am just waiting for my books to come in the mail. I have already read the first chapter via on line but I want the books so that I can make notes and do some highlighting.

The kids had a good first day at school and I think Christopher will be ok this year. He seems to like his teachers which is good for him. Courtney started her college chem class and already has a test this friday. welcome to college life little girl..lol.

My girlfriend's daughter is pre diabetic and they are going to try changing her diet for 6months to see if that will make a difference. I personally feel that 1500 cal for a 17 year old is a little low and diabetes runs in her family. so I have a feeling that she will eventually be insulin dependent.

Well I have taken a page from my sister in law and I am going back to school via the internet. I am doing medical billing and coding. I have wanted to do this for a long time. It will be something that I can do from home and be able to take with me when we move to NC in 5-6 years.

The kids start school tomorrow and are excited and nervous. Courtney is a junior and has 2 college ace courses that if she does well in them Penn State will accept them. she is taking chemistry and computer apps. she shouldn't have any trouble with these. the biggest thing for me is that she needs a calculator that cost about 170 bucks.
Christopher is going into 8th grade and is nervous about a couple of his teachers. He heard rumors that were not good, we told him to wait and make his own opinions, he may get along with them. He has just finished bowling with his dad and then in 2 weeks will start his own league for fall bowling. I am so proud of how well he does. at his banquet he won a $50 gift certificate to the pro shop so he thinks he will put that towards getting a second bowling ball.

As a going back to school gift Bubba bought a guinea pig. her name is Crystal. I have this rule that all names in this house have to start with a "C" I just think it's cool. (I know I am strange)
but Crystal is very gentle and I think we are going to like having her around.

Bubba is doing well with his assistant coaching. I ran into his head coach and he really likes having him around. From a mom's stand point that is a great complament...

I am waiting to hear if I got my old job back at the Foot Care Center... I really enjoyed working there and would not have left had they given me full-time. It's been a year and 4 months and I was approached by them to come back. I just hope that they can meet my terms. It would be so nice to be working in my perfession again. I just hope that I am not stepping on toes coming back. so say a prayer and let's hope that things work out.

My best friend Christine's daughter is getting married and I can't make the wedding because the casino would not give me the day off, because I am low man on totem pole. and it's a race day and a holiday weekend. Oh Happy Joy(sarcasm) It really makes me mad that I am going to miss this special occasion.

I like the people I work with but I want to be around when my kids need me, and I can't do that working until 3-4 o'clock in the am. and weekends all the time. plus the stress at the casino is horrible. Last night on of the cashiers just walked out and quit. they have never replaced the banker that quit in July and everyone seems to get their vacation but me. I have had to cancel so many doctor appointment because my job schedule does not fit with my Dr's and I am out of pain pills and need more. The good thing if I get my old job back is that I will be able to be with the kids for their activities which I have been missing for the last year and half. I never realized how much more they would need me as teenagers, more so than when they were little.

Chris might be going back to the weekend night shift, which would be classic if I get a day job. for all of our years of marriage we have never worked the same shift to be off at the same time. Maybe when we retire we will get to see each other for more than an hour in passing.

band camp

well only one more day of band camp and then courtney can take a breather for the weekend. Then 1 week of vacation left and back to school and football games and soccer games. I have the crappy schedule for the next couple of weeks so I will be missing these activities and that sucks. I am going back to college to get my medical billing and coding certificate. Then I hope to get back into the medical field. I really miss it.

the kids are doing great. Bubba is down at my dad's for one last hoopla before school starts. Aunt Tam and Uncle Jim are taking him and the girls to the state park this weekend for some swimming and hiking. that should tire them all out.

Wish we all could have gone on a big vacation this year. I could have used the down time away from work and the valley, but alas it was not meant to be.

so much seems to be going on and the summer has flown by. I can't believe that we are all headed back to school. I find that I am missing my good friend Shawn, even though we talk it's just not the same as coffee on the porch and a walk around the garden. And with my job I can't even make plans with my other friends. I always seem to work when everyone else is off. I now know how my husband feels about working weekends. But if my boss doesn't screw with the schedule I think Chris and I might actually have Labor day off together and I am going to try to have a picinic.

well there is only 2 hours of work left so I better get a move on.

august

Well I broke down and I let Courtney put blue in her hair. It's ok, but I am glad we just did the tips. They had to strip her hair of her natural color and then put in the blue and her would not take all of the color so she also now has white/blonde mixed with the blue. it looks cool but it would have looked horrible all over.

My boss has changed my schedule again and now I get to work thursday thru sunday 4pm to 3am. Not liking this because now my kids are without any adult on the weekend and school will be starting soon and that is when all of their activities take place, and because of this i know can not go to Courtney's band picinic. I really hate this job more and more. I really wish I could quit....... I have an appointment at the bussiness college in elmira to check out getting my degree in medical billing and coding. I hope it is something that i can afford.

christopher hurt his hand today. he was fixing one of his bikes and his thumb got stuck in the chain, he will loose the nail eventually, he cut it right at the cuticle. I am just going to keep an eye on it and as long as it does not get infected i will let it alone.

big chris has been going down to his mom's to work on her stairway. i miss him when he is down there but he should be done soon. it's not like we do alot but i still like to have him around. I am hoping that we can take the kids somewhere for the day before school starts, but who knows. I just found out that I can not take vacation until October now. I really hate this job!!!!!!!!!!!

crazy people

Well it's been one heck of a month. My grandmother passed away and we traveled to Conn. Even though I have an aunt and uncle She was truly my last link to my mom. I felt like and outsider. My cousins were nice. (I can't believe that they are all grown up with familys of their own. wow when did I get so old?) The only plus side was that Jim and Tammy and the girls and Bear and the 4 of us all staid at the same hotel and spent some quaility time together. It really sucks that we have to wait for someone to pass away to be able to do family time.. Usually chris is working or I am.

Courtney is gearing up for band camp. Oh the Joy(sarcasm) music everywhere and a list of things she has to have. she is the libraian and section leader.
She has been to the theater 4 times to see HP and wants to go again.

Christopher is still working at all of his jobs. for a 13 y/o he keeps pretty busy.
I am so proud of him last week he bowled a 298. His missed a perfect game on the last ball. But I think it's great that he got that far. Everyone at the lanes were shaking his hand and patting him on the back. they are a nice group of people.

Chris is starating to tear apart his mom's hallway. just a simple job, but it need to get done.

The kids have started to clean the basement so that they can turn it into a game room so that they can have parties and stay out mom and dad's hair.

We are thinking of having a yard sale in couple of weeks to get rid of the stuff that they have out grown. I figure what doesn't sale will go to the free pile.

i am still looking for a job, but at this rate I will probaly be at the casino until we move. It's not a bad job, just stressfull on me with the fibro and arthritis. I hate the pain.

Well it's my big brother's birthday today and because of my job I can't spend the day with him. My grand mother has passed away. Even though i didn't get to see her alot. I loved her very much and i am going to miss her. The good thing is that she is in heaven with my mom and the rest of the clan. They are probaly having a big party up there. so if anyone hears thunder don't worry, it's just the Italians up in heaven have a grand ole time.

we are all headed out to conn for the services and to pay our last repects. even though I still have my mom's sister and brother. I feel that I have lost the last link to my mother. it's very depressing...

The kids are doing well. Courtney started band for the year and is gearing up for band camp. She made section leader again and the kids are glad that it's her. Bubba want's to help coach soccer so he is trying to get a hold of his old coach to see if he can assist this year. The junior high team finally got a new coach and Bubba does not like the coach so he is going to wait till next year and play on the senior high team. that coach is just waiting for him to enter the 9th grade.

Chris made it home safe from Brazil, just in time to get sick. I think it was the air on the plane, but he had swollen glands and a fever and sore throat, but being the typical guy he would not go to the dr's and we did over the counter and he is feeling better, but he was kind and shared some of it with me. I have had a headache for 3 days and a sore throat and stuffy nose. oh well...

oh my goodness

let's see were to begin.. chris made it home safe from Brazil, and wouldn't you know that he now has the flu. figures... and he still has to go to work friday. oh well it was great seeing him at least one day.

courtney is very sad. She thought she was going to the midnight show with aunt tammy and realized that she wasn't because she mixed up her dates and she is CRYING* the girl who doesn't cry* I feel so bad because here I am at work until 3 am and I can't even take her to the local theater to see it. I hate being away from the kids.

christopher and chris both got hair cuts today and look very handsome.

christopher has a job cleaning his friends pool.. there are 3 kids in that family and they have to pay bubba to clean the pool and take care of the yard.. oh well good for him, but you would think the parents would make the kids do it, especially since the oldest is christopher's age and one of his good friends...

well it's 1am and I hope to go home in 2 hours. and then lucky me I have a 10 am appointment, then christopher has a 1pm appoinment and I have to get Courtney to Dushore by 1 pm. Oh the life of a mom...

july

Well it seems like forever that I have had 10 minutes to actually blog. so here goes. The kids went down to the Folmar household and spent time with family. Chris went to Brazil and hopefully will be the 12th insteadt of the 14th. we can only hope. He is not enjoying himself and can't wait to come home.

Courtney has turned 16 and now has her driver's permit. She is extremely proud of the fact that she got it on her first try when many of her friends did not. And she had a feather in cap because Bear allowed her to drive his new toy* Mercedes convertable* She is still glowing over that. Her bestest Aunt Tam found unpasturized milk at the farmer's market and Courtney had real milk for the first time in 10 years and was not sick. So I now need to find a supplier up here in Sayre. She said she forgot what it was like to drink milk and not get sick. Courtney is not allergic to milk, just the pasturization process. Now Court is gearing up for band the rest of the summer. My house looks like a music shop exploded...

Christopher misses playing soccer but there is not coach for the jr high team, so he has to wait till next summer for the sr high team. He also went down to the folmar's and visited with family, but was ready to come home. He is my home body and does not like to travel as much as his sister. He loves to visit, but only for short periods of time. He has been so helpful around the house since his father is out of the country. I sometimes forget that he is only 13.

My job is still here but I am continuing to look.

June 18th

Well we did it. Courtney now has her driver's permit. OMG, now I have to teaach her how to drive with out my road rage(lol). I really wish my mom was here to do this, she had more patients with Courtney then anyone else.

Well my best friend just left for N.C. to live this morning. I am really gonna miss them. We are hoping to travel this august to visit. I always thought it would be us that moved first. Amazing what life throws your way.

Well gotta get the house ready for courtney's birthday party tomorrow.

June 16th

Well my little girl is not so little any more. she is now 16 and a junior in high school. OMG when did this happen.???? We did not get a chance to do anything special today, but she is having a party friday night with her friends and her father and I are giving her a day at the spa for her gift. the fun part is that she gets to take 3 friends with her to the spa to get pampered also. Wish someone would do that for me.
Christopher has a part time job at his friends pizza shop. he works one day a week and gets to tkeep his tips. not bad for a 13 year old. he also cuts grass. some days he is so grown up that you forget he still is only a child, but there are those days that you know he is only a child. lol

big chris leaves for brazil on june 27th. I am excited for him. wish i could go with him. he'll be gone 2 weeks. it sucks that he'll be away for the 4th but I'm hoping the kids and I can do something special. i know that i have to work, but maybe we can go to some fireworks.

well it's almost 1 am on the 17th now and I still have 2 hours of work left. so back I go.

getting older

Well you know your getting older when one of your babies gets her physical for her drivers permit, and then informs you that in 8 days she will be able to get behind the wheel,(legally) and help with the running of errands(as long as she can drive of course)

Courtney is going on her band trip and dragging her dad along for the ride. oh happy j0y for him. I am lucky since I work until 3 am and won't be able to make the 6am bus.

Christopher is spending the night at a friends house after going to a B-Mets game up in Binghamton, NY.

School is out and now I am the activities director for the next 3 months. oh yeah! (sarcasm at it's best)

Hard to believe that my kids only have 1 day of school left. This school year has flown by. My mom would be so proud of the kids. Courtney is receiving awards again tonight. I hope I get out of work in time to see this. She also is taking 2 college courses next year. Mom was very big on education. I am hoping that Courtney's web site will start to generate money for the scholarship fund in my mom's name at the college. she is working to write more songs to put on it. Christopher has some struggles this year but he is growing into a fine young man. There are still days that I wish I could sell him to the gypsies, but then I would buy him right back. Oh teenage boys. what fun what joy!!!!
The kids are excited about going to Conn. to see their great grandmother. She's not very healthy and it will be good for her to see them.
Chris is waiting for his work visa so that he can travel to Brazil. He will be gone for about 2-3 weeks learning a new plane that is coming into the states that his company has bought.
I am still looking for a job back in medicine. I can't believe how much I miss that atmosphere.

birthday

Well as most of you know that yesterday was my birthday. I am now 42 and my big brother and I are twins for the next 2 months. I had to work yesterday, but I got to see my dad and his new toy. And my nieces katie and sarah called and sang to me with their parents singing also. it was really nice. today i decided to be lazy and other than some grocery shopping i have couch pototoed it all day. This week I have to get Court her physical so she can get her permit in 2 weeks (UGGGH) and I have to plan her sweet 16 party for her and her friends. She is getting a special day at the spa with 3 of her best friends.
Bubba has been gone all weekend with his buddy so it has been ery quite.

confirmation

wow I can't believe that the weekend is over. Christopher was confirmed on Sunday and we had a big party for him. It was great to see all of our family and friends that day. I know that I had a great day I hope everyone else did too. My brother-in-law had a minor fender bender on his way up. no one was hurt thankfully. the lady tried to pay him off but he stuck to his guns and called the police.

My husband surpised me and had added my birthday to the festivities. It's not often that we can get the whole family together like that. *everyone is so busy* My dad surprised me with the video camera that I have been trying to save money to buy. He's so great. My mother-in-law got me a gorgeous flower basket for the porch, let;s just hope that I don't kill it. lol my husband made my flower beds for me. my sister-in-law and the kids got me my favorite cream and bath soap., so it turned out to be a good day for me.

Come saturday when it's my birthday, jimmy and i will be the same age for 2 months, ha i love to tease him with that.!

UGHHHH

As much as I love my dog*Cinderella* she just cost me $180. at the vet. I think that animals are more expensive than kids. But because of that I can not get Christopher a gift for this sunday so I have to make him an IOU and do something special for him this summer. Sometimes life is just NOT FAIR, as my niece would say. Courtney's concert last week was amazing. the theme was all service music. they played all themes to every branch of the military. the kids were amazing and the music was great. It was nice to see a lot of the audience stand for the branch of the military and I was amazed at how many of the parents that I know who have been in the military and I didn't know that about them. Now we gear up for the musical "Kiss Me Kate" and the memorial day parade. that kid keeps me to busy some days. and then she just let me know that she got accepted to take 2 college courses next year and we get to pay for the books and a small fee which the school will let us know how much. As you can probably guess Chris is freakin as usual about the money but is very proud of his little girl.
Well we found out that Chris will be going to Brazil this summer for a couple of weeks to learn about a new plane. I am so proud of him. I wish I could go with him but I had to be a big girl and get a job. what was I thinking.?????lol I might have to con my dad and sister-in-law to take the kids for a couple of days. depending on when he leaves and what the kids have on their schedules.
I think I totally agree with Katie and Sarah that life's NOT FAIR!!!!

mothers day

had a nice mothers day with my sister in law cooking a great dinner and also celebrating my dad's birthday. it was a little tough without my mom but it's getting easier to deal with. the kids are great and we are all tired from being outside most of the day. it's amazing how tiring my nieces are. they are so active that i feel tired just watching them. i swear my sister in law tammy puts new batteries in them when she knows we are coming. lol. hope eveyone had a great mothers day.

well saturday was the 1st day of harness racing at work and it was an extremely busy day. I was so glad that I worked the morning shift. and then had sunday off. this place was a mad house. but now we are in a routine again and things should run smoothly.

went to see the family and surprised dad with his birthday gift. we got him a sliding screen door for his door. so that when it's nice he can catch a breeze and not get the bugs. The girls were great about making surprise picture to tape to the screen. and Katie help me yell surprise when the Bear got home from work.

The kids are great. Courtney is now playing 12 instruments and just got back from philly on a school trip. and is getting ready for the musical "Kiss Me Kate" She is playing 3 instruments for this one.
Christopher is waiting to hear from the school if there will be a Jr High boys soccer team. Last years coach can't do it. In the mean time he is keeping busy with his buddies by helping them practice for baseball. He didn't want to play on a team, but they let him help at practice. so it's the best of both worlds for me. Keeps bubba busy and active and I don't have to go to the games. Yeah!

the begining of race season

April half gone

Can you believe that Easter is over and that April is half over.???? Wow were does the time go.? The Harmon's had a great Easter vacation. We spent part of it with the Folmar clan at Splash Lagoon and it was fun. The girls were great to watch splashing around the lagoon and getting Ney and Bubba wet. Katie was Uncle Chris's best friend and they had lots of fun together. Sarah is still going thru her bashful stage so she only wanted mommy or Bear. Court and Christopher had fun playing in the arcade. The only disappointment was that the hotel did not have it's own pool for down time.

I received a nice complement at work about how well I handle the busy times and keep everyone happy. I am still looking for another job that is more family friendly. I find that the kids need more and more now than they did when they their little.

Chris had a good time while he was in Augusta, for work, and he made it home in time to meet us at the Lagoon. He came home with a tan the creep.

april

I can't wait for vacation. The kids are really looking forward to having a vacation with thier little cousins. Chris is gearing up to lwave for Agusta Georgia for some golf thing. He will be there to work on planes and hopefully soak some sunshine into his old bones. He will get back just in time to meet us at Splash Lagoon for our vacation.

The kids are doing great. Christopher recieved a lot of awards at his bowling banquet. He has come so far. I am really proud of him. Basket ball is finally over and he has some down time which is good and bad for him. He gets bored so easily.

Courtney is doing well also. She is gearing up for the musical at school, pit band of course. She has been having some problems with some so called friends making fun of her because she doesn't date or sleep with the guys. I told her that they are just jealous, because thier boyfriends ask her to do things with them before they ask thier girlfriends, plus she just doesn't have the time to date anyone, she's involved in to many activities.
One of her friend just got married at 16, and promptly dropped out of school and got a tatoo and her belly button pierced. Oh life is fun. At least her mom made sure she couldn't get pregnant for the first 6 months. Everyone is betting to see how long this last, before she comes running home. The new husband's family want nothing to do with her.

march already

when the hell did march get here????? I can't believe how time just flies. I am activily looking for a new job and have applied to numerous places. so everyone keep your fingers crossed. Courtney has had two concerts and played extemely well. I have been recieving complements from everyone. makes me a proud mom. Christopher is on the jr high basket ball team. he keeps all the stats during the games but has to practice on the court at all the practices so for him that is the best of both worlds for him. He gets excercise but not the stress of the game.

chris is still traveling and getting really tired of it.

I can't believe the new year is flying by like it has. So much has happened since I last had the chance to sit and write ob the blog. Christmas was nice and quite. the kids got a wii and they are actually enjoying it and then their Bear got them the wii fit and low and behold my bubba likes yoga. who would have thunk it. sis is away at district band until Sunday and she seems to be having a great time. her music playing is amazing. she had to audition for a solo with her e-flat clarinet and she got it, plus the part that she has to play with her soprano clarinet. she gets home just to turn around and leave again for county band practice. plus she needs to keep her grades up. she actually had a little trouble with algebra 3 but we hope to see that grade come back up.
bubba is thinking about trying out for Jr high basketball. it would be nice if he could make the team. he has such low self esteem and i just don't know how to get him to realize that he can be good at anything he wants if he just puts the effort into it. boys who become teenagers and hit puberty at the same time can really drive a mom to drink.

Chris is doing well and thankfully still has his job. he had now made it through 7 layoffs and is still working. one of the high ups in the company said when Chris goes then the Ohio depot shuts down. that made me feel good that the company thinks that highly of my husband.

I'm doing OK. I am still looking for a different job, which is really hard into today's economic strife. but hopefully there is something out there for me. it's not that this job is bad but it does not mesh with a family. when i need to be some were with the kids i have to work, or if i want to visit my family i have to work. my goal is to pay off my car as quickly as possible while putting money into savings and then quit if possible. and then try to find something part time. just to keep me busy and out of trouble.
this weather is paying havoc on my old bones and not helping the rsd or fibromyalsia. sucks let me tell you. there are some days i just wish i could cut my arms off just to get rid of the pain. sometimes it gets so bad i just want to curl in a ball and cry and pray for death, but i don't. i can't because the kids won't let me. thank god. then they wouldn't have anyone to torture. LOL.
there are days like today that i miss my mom so much. she would love to see courtney play in the band tonight and tomorrow. she never missed one concert. she was very proud of courtney and her music. also she would love to have seen christopher play soccer last year and to know that he lettered and proudly displays that letter on the coat that she bought him. and of course she would tease him about his bowling, but being equally proud that he is doing so well. and then she would be there for me to rant and rave about life and everything and believe it or not tell me to suck it up and get on with living life. lol.
